Dr. Christine Lambert Receives the 2027 Eugene J. Houdry Award in Applied Catalysis

Type: NACS News

The North American Catalysis Society is pleased to announce that Dr. Christine Lambert of Ford Motor Company has been selected as the recipient of the 2027 Eugene J. Houdry Award in Applied Catalysis, recognizing her pioneering contributions to automotive emissions-control catalysis.

Dr. Lambert played a central role in advancing copper/zeolite catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in diesel exhaust, helping bring the technology from early demonstrations to commercial implementation. Her work established these catalysts as a durable and practical solution for meeting increasingly stringent emissions standards.

Through sustained technical leadership at Ford, Dr. Lambert translated catalytic science into a broad portfolio of durable, cost-effective, production-ready emissions-control systems. Her achievements demonstrate the lasting industrial impact of connecting fundamental advances in catalysis with the challenges of automotive applications.

Beyond her technical accomplishments, Dr. Lambert’s distinguished service to the catalysis community has strengthened its professional society and advanced the field.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Lambert on this well-deserved recognition!
